Living in Chinatown: Memories in Miniature:
The Chinatown Miniatures Collection, donated by artist Frank Wong to the CHSA in 2004, features seven detailed scenes of Chinatown. Born and raised in Chinatown, Wong worked as a set designer for Hollywood, including on “Magnum PI,” before returning to his childhood neighborhood in retirement. He views the miniatures as “frames” capturing his personal memories of growing up in San Francisco and the vibrant Chinatown community.
